HAIR REMOVAL

Ellipse uses short bursts of safe, visible light emitted from a flash-lamp to remove unwanted hair from all body sites, safely and effectively.

How Ellipse treatment works
The Ellipse operator guides the visible light from the flash-lamp to the treatment area. The unique Ellipse system carefully filters this light in two ways to ensure that only light with the correct wavelengths is allowed to reach your skin.

Hair contains pigment (melanin) that absorbs the light and converts it into heat. The hair transmits this heat into the hair follicle, which is then destroyed and unable to produce a new hair.

To ensure optimal light transmission to the hair, a thin layer of gel (similar to that used in ultrasound examinations) is applied to your skin before treatment. The operator then moves the hand-held applicator over the entire treatment area exactly one applicator width after each flash of light.

How Ellipse treatment works
Ellipse uses short bursts of safe, visible light emitted from a flash-lamp to treat the affected area. The Ellipse operator guides the visible light from the flash-lamp to the skin. The Ellipse flash-lamp emits light that is carefully filtered before it reaches the skin; this ensures that only light with the correct wavelengths is allowed to reach your skin. The light that is allowed through is absorbed by haemoglobin, which is the red pigment in blood.

The heat from the flash-lamp heats up the haemoglobin in the fine blood vessels near the skin surface. This causes a minor injury to the sebaceous glands and slows down the overproduction of oil that leads to acne.

Blood contains haemoglobin that absorbs the light and converts it into heat. This heat destroys the protein in the wall of the thread vein. As a result the veins will gradually, and safely, disappear after treatment.

To ensure optimal light transmission to the blood vessel, a thin layer of gel (similar to that used in ultrasound examinations) is applied to your skin before treatment.

PIGMENTED LESION
Remove pigmented lesions safely and effectively. The most common ways to deal with pigmented lesions have been makeup, surgery and lasers. Makeup is simple, inexpensive and painless – but it is only a cover-up and requires an everlasting commitment. Surgical treatment of pigmented lesions has shown mixed success, often with scarring as an adverse effect. Lasers can indeed produce good results, however many lasers are specific to only one particular type of lesion. How Ellipse treatment works
Ellipse treatment works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by one of the body's own natural chemicals – melanin – which is concentrated in the pigmented areas.

Melanin converts the light energy it absorbs into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored. This technique has the name "Selective Photothermolysis."

The visible light produced by the Ellipse device is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the target without damaging surrounding tissues.
